Narrative:

Emergency diversion for medically unstable passenger with suspected heart attack. Under advice of 2 doctors onboard, passenger needed to be on ground with advanced life support. Our operations specifications only allowed very few airports to land at under an emergency. In this case msp, den, gtf were too far away for passenger needs. By declaring emergency and with ATC and another aircraft's help we decided to go to bismark which had been used by another air carrier for this purpose. Turns out airport was very good choice, with a jetway tall enough to reach door, paramedics, ILS, long runway. In the future it would be nice if our airline would include this airport as an emergency airport under our operations specifications. That part of country (north dakota) has very few options for DC10's under our operations specifications. It would also be nice if our airline would give us some kind of approach plate for these 8800 ft long runways/airports.
