Narrative:
Given clearance to taxi to runway 32 from gate. Ground control told us initially to go left on taxiway B to avoid an inbound flight. As we started out on taxiway B, captain told first officer to start right engine. At the same time the captain made the pre-takeoff announcement. We continued on taxiway B toward runway 22 across runway 14/32. At the time there was no arriving or departing aircraft on runway 14/32. After crossing, ground control told us we must be a little confused and gave us further instructions to runway 32. This occurrence happened at a time of high cockpit workload with a new copilot. Increased vigilance required at all taxiway and runway intxns.
