Narrative:

I departed oak with possible open write-up. ADF had been crew placarded and entered in logbook. However, no balancing write-up accomplished at oak. Assumed write-up legal and departed with aircraft. Side note: attention diverted during pre-departure by having to remove passenger under the influence of alcohol. En route, I took another look at write-up and determined there was a problem with it. I informed maintenance personally and immediately upon arrival at dfw. No resolution to situation as maintenance man disappeared after I talked with him.
