Narrative:
Leveled off at 33000 ft. Cabin pressurization leveled off momentarily, but then kept climbing to above 10000 ft. The cabin alarm went off. I switched to manual control, but couldn't control pressurization. At that point we proceeded with emergency checklist and we started emergency descent. Descent went fine, rest of flight to landing went normal. 4 days earlier, the pressurization was doing the same thing and was written up by crew and fixed by maintenance. Captain was doing IOE and PF was an instructor captain. Lead flight attendant stuck her head in the cockpit as we started our emergency descent and I showed her the oxygen mask. Supplemental information from acn 339680: donned oxygen mask, disconnected the autoplt, extended the speed brakes, and started a shallow turn to the right away from the airway, and initiated an emergency descent. I declared an emergency and advised of the emergency descent.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN ACR B727-200 CREW LOST ITS CABIN PRESSURIZATION. EMER DECLARED, DSCNT PROC EMER DSCNT.
Narrative: LEVELED OFF AT 33000 FT. CABIN PRESSURIZATION LEVELED OFF MOMENTARILY, BUT THEN KEPT CLBING TO ABOVE 10000 FT. THE CABIN ALARM WENT OFF. I SWITCHED TO MANUAL CTL, BUT COULDN'T CTL PRESSURIZATION. AT THAT POINT WE PROCEEDED WITH EMER CHKLIST AND WE STARTED EMER DSCNT. DSCNT WENT FINE, REST OF FLT TO LNDG WENT NORMAL. 4 DAYS EARLIER, THE PRESSURIZATION WAS DOING THE SAME THING AND WAS WRITTEN UP BY CREW AND FIXED BY MAINT. CAPT WAS DOING IOE AND PF WAS AN INSTRUCTOR CAPT. LEAD FLT ATTENDANT STUCK HER HEAD IN THE COCKPIT AS WE STARTED OUR EMER DSCNT AND I SHOWED HER THE OXYGEN MASK. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 339680: DONNED OXYGEN MASK, DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT, EXTENDED THE SPD BRAKES, AND STARTED A SHALLOW TURN TO THE R AWAY FROM THE AIRWAY, AND INITIATED AN EMER DSCNT. I DECLARED AN EMER AND ADVISED OF THE EMER DSCNT.
