Narrative:
APU. Fire warning. ATC emergency declared with diversionary landing at cos. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter captain was contacted to obtain more information concerning the APU fire incident. En route to another airport they received the APU fire warning. Unable to know what the situation was, they diverted and landed uneventfully. Mechanics found a short in the fire warning system, deferred the APU inoperative and the flight crew ferried the aircraft to den for repair. Reporter confirmed aircraft as B737-200.

Title: ACFT EQUIP PROB. FALSE APU FIRE WARNING. FLT DIVERTED, EMER DECLARED.
Narrative: APU. FIRE WARNING. ATC EMER DECLARED WITH DIVERSIONARY LNDG AT COS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR CAPT WAS CONTACTED TO OBTAIN MORE INFO CONCERNING THE APU FIRE INCIDENT. ENRTE TO ANOTHER ARPT THEY RECEIVED THE APU FIRE WARNING. UNABLE TO KNOW WHAT THE SIT WAS, THEY DIVERTED AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. MECHS FOUND A SHORT IN THE FIRE WARNING SYS, DEFERRED THE APU INOP AND THE FLC FERRIED THE ACFT TO DEN FOR REPAIR. RPTR CONFIRMED ACFT AS B737-200.
