Narrative:

On rotation passenger door warning illuminated and aircraft would not pressurize. We elected to return to chs. Mechanic (contract) looked at door seal, microswitches, etc. Exact write up was 'passenger door light illuminated on rotation and aircraft would not pressurize in either automatic or manual.' the mechanic only signed off the door warning and the automatic mode. Manual mode was not signed off. We flew the aircraft on one leg with the incorrect sign-off.
