Narrative:
The left wingtip of my BE1900D airliner struck a fuel truck as I was marshaled into a parking spot. The marshaller was fixed at a spot forward of the nose of the aircraft as he instructed the aircraft to turn to the right. Before commencing the turn there appeared to be enough room between the aircraft and the fuel truck, which we later found out was parked improperly. The marshaller remained forward of the nose as we turned and never instructed the aircraft to stop prior to the incident. The left wing struck a fuel truck and caused a small rip in the fiberglass of the wingtip. I feel this incident could have been averted if the company would spend more time addressing the real situation of an overcongested ramp instead of how the crew could pay retribution for their deed. One way to improve the situation is to paint some kind of equipment safety zone on the ramp in which trucks and ground equipment can park and not have to worry about being hit. Another suggestion is to have company policy mandate wing walkers any time we are parking in such a confined area, unfortunately this costs and probably the second suggestion more so than the first. Therefore, I cannot see the company making any changes. The company's view is that the PIC is ultimately responsible even if he is being marshaled in by someone else and the company will punish the crew instead of addressing the situation.

Title: WHILE A FLC WAS FOLLOWING A MARSHALLER'S GUIDANCE INTO A PARKING AREA, THE ACFT'S WINGTIP STRUCK A FUEL TRUCK CAUSING A SMALL RIP IN THE WINGTIP'S FIBERGLAS. THE MARSHALER CONTINUED TO GIVE THE 'COME AHEAD' SIGNAL WHEN THE DAMAGE OCCURRED.
Narrative: THE L WINGTIP OF MY BE1900D AIRLINER STRUCK A FUEL TRUCK AS I WAS MARSHALED INTO A PARKING SPOT. THE MARSHALLER WAS FIXED AT A SPOT FORWARD OF THE NOSE OF THE ACFT AS HE INSTRUCTED THE ACFT TO TURN TO THE R. BEFORE COMMENCING THE TURN THERE APPEARED TO BE ENOUGH ROOM BTWN THE ACFT AND THE FUEL TRUCK, WHICH WE LATER FOUND OUT WAS PARKED IMPROPERLY. THE MARSHALLER REMAINED FORWARD OF THE NOSE AS WE TURNED AND NEVER INSTRUCTED THE ACFT TO STOP PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE L WING STRUCK A FUEL TRUCK AND CAUSED A SMALL RIP IN THE FIBERGLASS OF THE WINGTIP. I FEEL THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE BEEN AVERTED IF THE COMPANY WOULD SPEND MORE TIME ADDRESSING THE REAL SIT OF AN OVERCONGESTED RAMP INSTEAD OF HOW THE CREW COULD PAY RETRIBUTION FOR THEIR DEED. ONE WAY TO IMPROVE THE SIT IS TO PAINT SOME KIND OF EQUIP SAFETY ZONE ON THE RAMP IN WHICH TRUCKS AND GND EQUIP CAN PARK AND NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BEING HIT. THE COMPANY'S VIEW IS THAT THE PIC IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE EVEN IF HE IS BEING MARSHALED IN BY SOMEONE ELSE AND THE COMPANY WILL PUNISH THE CREW INSTEAD OF ADDRESSING THE SIT.
