Narrative:

400 ft on final to dca runway 36, we were cleared to land. At that point 1 aircraft was in position and 1 was rolling out on runway 36. Also there was an aircraft in position on runway 3. Just after we touched down at approximately 110 KTS, the controller barked a couple of options for clearing the runway and wanted it done as soon as possible. I was somewhat distracted by our sequence and making sure the first officer had the aircraft under control. After a very firm landing I thought I heard runway 33 as 1 of our turnoff options. We used runway 33 and the tower had to send landing traffic around. I spoke to the manager on duty and explained how being sequenced that way and his last min rapid fire instructions contributed to my misunderstanding the clearance. In the future I'll be very careful when I get the urge to be so accommodating. Supplemental information from acn 341110: the controllers were pushing the operation to the limit. We expressed our concern that they were pushing the limits of a safe operation. Supplemental information from acn 341109: I guess our hearing should have been more acute but it would be nice if we didn't get taxi instructions right after coming into reverse.

Title: B727 FLC RECEIVES TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WHILE ACTIVATING REVERSERS AND SLOWING THE ACFT. THEY MAKE THE WRONG TURN OFF ONTO A RWY. RWY TRANSGRESS OTHER.

Narrative: 400 FT ON FINAL TO DCA RWY 36, WE WERE CLRED TO LAND. AT THAT POINT 1 ACFT WAS IN POS AND 1 WAS ROLLING OUT ON RWY 36. ALSO THERE WAS AN ACFT IN POS ON RWY 3. JUST AFTER WE TOUCHED DOWN AT APPROX 110 KTS, THE CTLR BARKED A COUPLE OF OPTIONS FOR CLRING THE RWY AND WANTED IT DONE ASAP. I WAS SOMEWHAT DISTRACTED BY OUR SEQUENCE AND MAKING SURE THE FO HAD THE ACFT UNDER CTL. AFTER A VERY FIRM LNDG I THOUGHT I HEARD RWY 33 AS 1 OF OUR TURNOFF OPTIONS. WE USED RWY 33 AND THE TWR HAD TO SEND LNDG TFC AROUND. I SPOKE TO THE MGR ON DUTY AND EXPLAINED HOW BEING SEQUENCED THAT WAY AND HIS LAST MIN RAPID FIRE INSTRUCTIONS CONTRIBUTED TO MY MISUNDERSTANDING THE CLRNC. IN THE FUTURE I'LL BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN I GET THE URGE TO BE SO ACCOMMODATING. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 341110: THE CTLRS WERE PUSHING THE OP TO THE LIMIT. WE EXPRESSED OUR CONCERN THAT THEY WERE PUSHING THE LIMITS OF A SAFE OP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 341109: I GUESS OUR HEARING SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE ACUTE BUT IT WOULD BE NICE IF WE DIDN'T GET TAXI INSTRUCTIONS RIGHT AFTER COMING INTO REVERSE.
