Narrative:

At approximately 800 ft AGL, just after takeoff from runway 10 at syr, the red windshear light came on along with the aural windshear alert. There was some light to moderate rain shower activity some 6 mi southeast moving away from the airport. The airspeed had dropped to below V2 plus 10. I lowered the nose slightly, pushed the throttles to the stops and disconnected the autothrottles. The airspeed decay stopped immediately and I then began to increase. The windshear warnings disappeared and I immediately reduced power. The entire encounter lasted no more than 10 seconds. The north ones on both engines had exceeded the orange radial lines but not the red lines. We informed ATC of our airspeed loss and advised dispatch of our intention to write up the engine overspd condition. The flight continued with the engines performing normally through all flight regimes. Subsequent maintenance investigation revealed that no damage had been done to the engines.

Title: AN ACR MD80 GOT CAUGHT IN WINDSHEAR AFTER TKOF AT SYR. EVASIVE ACTION WINDSHEAR ESCAPE MANEUVER. EMER SIT NOT DECLARED.

Narrative: AT APPROX 800 FT AGL, JUST AFTER TKOF FROM RWY 10 AT SYR, THE RED WINDSHEAR LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE AURAL WINDSHEAR ALERT. THERE WAS SOME LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN SHOWER ACTIVITY SOME 6 MI SE MOVING AWAY FROM THE ARPT. THE AIRSPD HAD DROPPED TO BELOW V2 PLUS 10. I LOWERED THE NOSE SLIGHTLY, PUSHED THE THROTTLES TO THE STOPS AND DISCONNECTED THE AUTOTHROTTLES. THE AIRSPD DECAY STOPPED IMMEDIATELY AND I THEN BEGAN TO INCREASE. THE WINDSHEAR WARNINGS DISAPPEARED AND I IMMEDIATELY REDUCED PWR. THE ENTIRE ENCOUNTER LASTED NO MORE THAN 10 SECONDS. THE N ONES ON BOTH ENGS HAD EXCEEDED THE ORANGE RADIAL LINES BUT NOT THE RED LINES. WE INFORMED ATC OF OUR AIRSPD LOSS AND ADVISED DISPATCH OF OUR INTENTION TO WRITE UP THE ENG OVERSPD CONDITION. THE FLT CONTINUED WITH THE ENGS PERFORMING NORMALLY THROUGH ALL FLT REGIMES. SUBSEQUENT MAINT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT NO DAMAGE HAD BEEN DONE TO THE ENGS.
