Narrative:
The midway approach was using the tower frequency. They complained that I called them at 30 mi out instead of within 15 NM. They probably felt overloaded by my action. I'm aware of the sectional statement of within 15 NM call them. Wait until within 15 NM out. Fatigue was definitely a factor. Lack of correct observance and interpretation of instructions spelled out in chicago sectional.
