Narrative:

Aircraft l-hand pack ram air system inoperative. Removed and replaced l-hand pack ram air inlet door actuator per maintenance manual. Opened air-conditioning bay door to inspect system and check ram air system cable tension. Performed operations check of ram air system. System operations check good. Closed and secured all air- conditioning bay doors. Aircraft departed ZZZ safely and on time. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: mechanic was contacted and made the following statement. I replaced the left pack inlet door actuator per the maintenance manual. I performed the operational checks of the left air-conditioning system and closed up all panels and doors. All doors were verified closed and locked. This airplane did not have the secondary latch screws normally found on this model aircraft because the door was not drilled for fasteners. Only primary spring latches were present. After this incident I advised the maintenance supervisor that a more precise check be added to the maintenance manual for doors lacking secondary latches or fasteners.

Title: L AIR-CONDITIONING BAY ACCESS DOOR FOUND MISSING AT FLT TERMINATION.

Narrative: ACFT L-HAND PACK RAM AIR SYS INOP. REMOVED AND REPLACED L-HAND PACK RAM AIR INLET DOOR ACTUATOR PER MAINT MANUAL. OPENED AIR-CONDITIONING BAY DOOR TO INSPECT SYS AND CHK RAM AIR SYS CABLE TENSION. PERFORMED OPS CHK OF RAM AIR SYS. SYS OPS CHK GOOD. CLOSED AND SECURED ALL AIR- CONDITIONING BAY DOORS. ACFT DEPARTED ZZZ SAFELY AND ON TIME. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: MECH WAS CONTACTED AND MADE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT. I REPLACED THE L PACK INLET DOOR ACTUATOR PER THE MAINT MANUAL. I PERFORMED THE OPERATIONAL CHKS OF THE L AIR-CONDITIONING SYS AND CLOSED UP ALL PANELS AND DOORS. ALL DOORS WERE VERIFIED CLOSED AND LOCKED. THIS AIRPLANE DID NOT HAVE THE SECONDARY LATCH SCREWS NORMALLY FOUND ON THIS MODEL ACFT BECAUSE THE DOOR WAS NOT DRILLED FOR FASTENERS. ONLY PRIMARY SPRING LATCHES WERE PRESENT. AFTER THIS INCIDENT I ADVISED THE MAINT SUPVR THAT A MORE PRECISE CHK BE ADDED TO THE MAINT MANUAL FOR DOORS LACKING SECONDARY LATCHES OR FASTENERS.
