Narrative:
On downwind to runway 8 at haines airport I reported intentions to land. Turned base, leveled wings, look up and down final approach course and saw no one. Turned final and landed without incident. Only upon landing did I learn from a co- worker that I had cut off a super cub (dark green paint) and forced him to go around. The cub didn't have a radio and did not enter the pattern using recommended procedures. The cub just came straight in on a 10 mi final. Contributing factors: failure to see cub on final, cub driver's failure to report position.
