Narrative:

Approximately 5 mins from dfw, the cargo smoke warning light illuminated. We performed the memory item which is cargo fire extinguisher on. We declared an emergency and were met by crash, fire and rescue equipment. There was no evidence of smoke inside or outside of the airplane. We shut down both engines on the taxiway and opened the main entrance door. With no other evidence of smoke or fire and only 14 passenger, I did not feel an evacuate/evacuation was necessary. The cargo bay was inspected by rescue personnel and myself and no evidence of smoke or fire wad noted. We then returned to the gate with crash fire rescue personnel following.
