Narrative:

Late at night, not much traffic, we were given a descent to cross 30 DME southwest of albany at 11000 ft I heard 10000 ft. Aircraft was descending past 11000 ft at 1000 FPM. The captain asked if (or to verify 11000 ft) I said to check with ATC who responded 11000 ft. I was in the process of stopping the descent with the autoplt which (started at 11000 minus 200 ft). The altitude dipped to 11000 minus 380 ft to 400 ft before climb back to 11000 ft. Next time stop descent immediately, discontinue autoplt and hand fly (stop descent) listen for other pilot 1000 ft above call and suspect no response. I had set altitude alerter to 10000 ft so no back up except other pilot 1000 ft above which I did not hear. Late at night, long days of flying. Need to be more alert, when tired.
