Narrative:

Holloman approach asked us to descend, maintain 12000 ft on descent into alamagordo, NM. The captain descended to 11300 ft before he realized that he was supposed to be at 12000 ft. First officer was occupied with ADF noise and was trying to correct that situation so did not hear altitude alert. Captain was distraction by all of the louder activity going on in vicinity of airport. Captain corrected for altitude. Approach made no mention of it.

Title: ALT OVERSHOT DURING DSCNT BY PIC OF A BE1900 WHILE THE FO WAS DISTR WITH THE ADF NOISE NEAR ABQ, NM.

Narrative: HOLLOMAN APCH ASKED US TO DSND, MAINTAIN 12000 FT ON DSCNT INTO ALAMAGORDO, NM. THE CAPT DSNDED TO 11300 FT BEFORE HE REALIZED THAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AT 12000 FT. FO WAS OCCUPIED WITH ADF NOISE AND WAS TRYING TO CORRECT THAT SIT SO DID NOT HEAR ALT ALERT. CAPT WAS DISTR BY ALL OF THE LOUDER ACTIVITY GOING ON IN VICINITY OF ARPT. CAPT CORRECTED FOR ALT. APCH MADE NO MENTION OF IT.
