Narrative:

Coming back from the practice area, I was clear to land to runway 01L, the wind was 320 degrees at 5 KTS. This was the third time I solo. At time I turn to base for runway 1L, I was high, at 2400 ft, on a short final. I realized I was off center of runway, unable to get full control of the aircraft to get the aircraft back to center of runway in time. The aircraft touched down on left hand side of the runway 01L, and struck the runway light by the left main gear. The tire got a cut from it but it wasn't deflate. I still able to taxi back to the hangar. I learned from this incident that I should go around instead of trying to land the aircraft at the side of the runway.
