Narrative:
Received new clearance on taxi out at ord. In haste to enter new clearance into FMC and complete takeoff checklist, first officer entered direct leg instead of jet route. After reaching obh, aircraft turned direct to hec instead of flying J100 as was our clearance. ZDV inquired about our routing and gave us direct downline to get us back on course.
