Narrative:
I departed runway 24 at teb, having been assigned the teb 3 departure. Because of my haste to keep up with the flow of departing traffic (trying to fit in between arrival and departing traffic), I did not fully read the departure plate. The instructions read 'turn right to a 280 degree heading, maintain 1500 ft until crossing the 015 degree bearing to pnt NDB.' I missed the instruction and when getting to the 015 degree bearing I turned to pnt NDB. I was asked by the controller what I was doing. I don't think this caused a conflict. I have operated out of teb many times and was perhaps lulled by a sense of confidence. This goes to show that we should take the time to fully understand a departure plate before doing it.

Title: SMT ACFT. RPTR DIDN'T FOLLOW PROPER SID PROC, DEP CTLR INTERVENED AND CORRECTED COURSE.
Narrative: I DEPARTED RWY 24 AT TEB, HAVING BEEN ASSIGNED THE TEB 3 DEP. BECAUSE OF MY HASTE TO KEEP UP WITH THE FLOW OF DEPARTING TFC (TRYING TO FIT IN BTWN ARR AND DEPARTING TFC), I DID NOT FULLY READ THE DEP PLATE. THE INSTRUCTIONS READ 'TURN R TO A 280 DEG HDG, MAINTAIN 1500 FT UNTIL XING THE 015 DEG BEARING TO PNT NDB.' I MISSED THE INSTRUCTION AND WHEN GETTING TO THE 015 DEG BEARING I TURNED TO PNT NDB. I WAS ASKED BY THE CTLR WHAT I WAS DOING. I DON'T THINK THIS CAUSED A CONFLICT. I HAVE OPERATED OUT OF TEB MANY TIMES AND WAS PERHAPS LULLED BY A SENSE OF CONFIDENCE. THIS GOES TO SHOW THAT WE SHOULD TAKE THE TIME TO FULLY UNDERSTAND A DEP PLATE BEFORE DOING IT.
