Narrative:
Clearance to cross hayed at FL180. At level off reclred to 17000 ft and given frequency change. Prior to leveling at 17000 ft received an RA on TCASII received an altitude alert at 16800 ft and climbed to 17000 ft. Controller questioned us when level at 17000 ft. The autoplt did not go to altitude hold due to an unknown reason.
