Narrative:
Complete loss of radar and communications at abc approach. Unable to contact the center on dial lines. All NAS communications lost due to phone lines. After contacting the center, all approach responsibilities for abc turned over to the center. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated the problem was with the telephone company in which service was affected by either a cut cable or some other situation that affected the phone feed of the radar and radio communication. Reporter stated this is about the fifth time this has occurred in a period of months. Reporter said the outage lasted about 7 hours.

Title: RPTR STATED APCH FACILITY LOST RADAR AND COM. APCH RESPONSIBILITIES TAKEN OVER BY THE CTR.
Narrative: COMPLETE LOSS OF RADAR AND COMS AT ABC APCH. UNABLE TO CONTACT THE CTR ON DIAL LINES. ALL NAS COMS LOST DUE TO PHONE LINES. AFTER CONTACTING THE CTR, ALL APCH RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ABC TURNED OVER TO THE CTR. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THE PROB WAS WITH THE TELEPHONE COMPANY IN WHICH SVC WAS AFFECTED BY EITHER A CUT CABLE OR SOME OTHER SIT THAT AFFECTED THE PHONE FEED OF THE RADAR AND RADIO COM. RPTR STATED THIS IS ABOUT THE FIFTH TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED IN A PERIOD OF MONTHS. RPTR SAID THE OUTAGE LASTED ABOUT 7 HRS.
