Narrative:
Late handoff from approach control to tower. Switched frequencys as instructed, but apparently did not call tower for landing clearance. After landing, ground control advised that clearance not acknowledged by flight crew. I remember having switched frequencys to tower and in fact, before landing we had the tower frequency tuned, I do not recall contacting tower, although we were monitoring the frequency. The late handoff to tower associated with the high workload apparently caused me to overlook making the tower call. There was no traffic conflict.

Title: ACR ON APCH RWY 21L DTW RECEIVED LATE HDOF TO TWR. FREQ TUNED BUT NO CALL FOR LNDG CLRNC. GND CTL ADVISED HAD NOT CONFIRMED LNDG CLRNC. NO CONFLICT.
Narrative: LATE HDOF FROM APCH CTL TO TWR. SWITCHED FREQS AS INSTRUCTED, BUT APPARENTLY DID NOT CALL TWR FOR LNDG CLRNC. AFTER LNDG, GND CTL ADVISED THAT CLRNC NOT ACKNOWLEDGED BY FLC. I REMEMBER HAVING SWITCHED FREQS TO TWR AND IN FACT, BEFORE LNDG WE HAD THE TWR FREQ TUNED, I DO NOT RECALL CONTACTING TWR, ALTHOUGH WE WERE MONITORING THE FREQ. THE LATE HDOF TO TWR ASSOCIATED WITH THE HIGH WORKLOAD APPARENTLY CAUSED ME TO OVERLOOK MAKING THE TWR CALL. THERE WAS NO TFC CONFLICT.
