Narrative:
Upon landing and rolling out to the end of the runway at plymouth airport, I realized I had landed on a closed runway. I determined this by observing the 'X' on the runway end in front of me. It was a windy day and the wind had distorted the (plastic?) X's, so that they were unreadable to me from the air. The runway was newly painted and/or recoated. On my approach to landing, the 'X' appeared to be part of the displaced threshold markings. Because I had been familiar with this local airport, I did not check the NOTAMS, but I will certainly do so in the future. The landing and subsequent takeoff were uneventful.
