Time, XX30Z. ATC frequency, 118.0. ATC facility, pop tower. Location, pop. Upon takeoff from pop, heard bang and felt thump. Upon gear retraction smelled burning rubber. Suspected nose gear tire blow out on takeoff. Landing runway 31L at jfk with crash fire rescue equipment standing by. Landing was normal and no damage noted to nose gear by maintenance.
