Narrative:
Air carrier B737 on base leg from north. Air carrier DO328 on modified base leg from south to follow the B737. B737 had similar call sign with previous aircraft and controller used wrong call sign, this resulted in loss of appropriate separation since the B737 never took turn to final and crossed localizer.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: APCH CTLR USED WRONG CALL SIGN WHILE VECTORING A B737 TO INTERCEPT THE LOC FINAL APCH COURSE AND THE ACFT OVERSHOT THE FINAL APCH AND HAD LTSS FROM A DO328 ON A VECTOR TO FOLLOW THE B737.
