Narrative:
I was on an IFR flight plan with a student. We were cleared to hold at the olm VOR. My student entered the hold on a parallel entry. After turning inbound the student lost positional awareness and turned outbound before crossing the VOR. I took the controls and re-established the hold. ATC didn't complain but the ground track must look very strange. Also, because of frequency congestion we did not report time and altitude entering the hold. I should have been more vigilant and corrected the student sooner.
