Narrative:

I was on the crowe arrival to las when ZLA told me that because of northerly winds at las, there was 1 runway in use and because of heavy traffic to las, we were to hold at woolf intersection. We had an efc time 12 mins after the time we started the hold. When the 12 mins had expired I asked center how much longer and they said another 7 mins. Prior to the descent and hold, I had enough fuel for my trip from sun to las, plus 45 mins reserve at cruise altitude. The WX was clear in las. I was holding at FL280 which burns a much higher fuel flow than at cruise altitude. I anticipated that after the additional 7 mins there would be a lengthy vector to get in line for runway 1R at las which would make my fuel situation critically low due to high fuel burn at low altitudes, so I declared minimum fuel and told center I could use runway 25L at las to avoid delaying aircraft landing on runway 1R. I landed on runway 25L without any problems and the wind did not exceed the aircraft crosswind capability.

Title: FLC OF A SABRELINER N265 DECLARED MINIMUM FUEL AFTER HOLDING FOR A FEW MINS WITH SEVERAL ACFT AHEAD. THEY REQUESTED AND WERE GIVEN A XWIND RWY WHICH A SUCCESSFUL LNDG WAS MADE AND VERY LITTLE DISRUPTION TO THE OTHER ACFT AHEAD FOR THE WIND FAVORED RWY.

Narrative: I WAS ON THE CROWE ARR TO LAS WHEN ZLA TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE OF NORTHERLY WINDS AT LAS, THERE WAS 1 RWY IN USE AND BECAUSE OF HVY TFC TO LAS, WE WERE TO HOLD AT WOOLF INTXN. WE HAD AN EFC TIME 12 MINS AFTER THE TIME WE STARTED THE HOLD. WHEN THE 12 MINS HAD EXPIRED I ASKED CTR HOW MUCH LONGER AND THEY SAID ANOTHER 7 MINS. PRIOR TO THE DSCNT AND HOLD, I HAD ENOUGH FUEL FOR MY TRIP FROM SUN TO LAS, PLUS 45 MINS RESERVE AT CRUISE ALT. THE WX WAS CLR IN LAS. I WAS HOLDING AT FL280 WHICH BURNS A MUCH HIGHER FUEL FLOW THAN AT CRUISE ALT. I ANTICIPATED THAT AFTER THE ADDITIONAL 7 MINS THERE WOULD BE A LENGTHY VECTOR TO GET IN LINE FOR RWY 1R AT LAS WHICH WOULD MAKE MY FUEL SIT CRITICALLY LOW DUE TO HIGH FUEL BURN AT LOW ALTS, SO I DECLARED MINIMUM FUEL AND TOLD CTR I COULD USE RWY 25L AT LAS TO AVOID DELAYING ACFT LNDG ON RWY 1R. I LANDED ON RWY 25L WITHOUT ANY PROBS AND THE WIND DID NOT EXCEED THE ACFT XWIND CAPABILITY.
