Narrative:
Left engine appeared to spool down. Left engine heat was turned on, then the fuel pump (that was off)was turned on. The engine then operated normally. We diverted to bos as a precaution.

Title: AN ACR DC9 CREW HAD TO DIVERT LAND AFTER AN ACFT EQUIP PROB L ENG APPEARED TO SPOOL DOWN.
Narrative: L ENG APPEARED TO SPOOL DOWN. L ENG HEAT WAS TURNED ON, THEN THE FUEL PUMP (THAT WAS OFF)WAS TURNED ON. THE ENG THEN OPERATED NORMALLY. WE DIVERTED TO BOS AS A PRECAUTION.
