Narrative:
Departed syr to roc without MEL book on board. Got busy deferring a minor maintenance item and left it behind. Discovered at next station (roc). Technical violation. Supplemental information from acn 353207: the aircraft had several deferrals, one of which was the flap indicator in the cockpit. I reviewed our procedures and checklists and could not find any place that I could have caught this mistake. First, I did not see the captain take the MEL/cdl book. On the checklist for a through flight there is not a place to check that the manuals are on board other than verifying the aircraft logbooks are on board.
