Narrative:
Participating in a flying club activity and may have gone below the separation of 500 ft over building or persons in non populated area (approximately 8-10 NM from morris, il, airport) over some farm buildings and machinery. Fixation on a point on the ground caused inattn to altitude. More careful attention to instrument scan could have prevented this situation.

Title: LOW ALT CIVIL OP IN A PA28-161. VIOLATION OF FARS INFLT OVER BUILDINGS OR PERSONS.
Narrative: PARTICIPATING IN A FLYING CLUB ACTIVITY AND MAY HAVE GONE BELOW THE SEPARATION OF 500 FT OVER BUILDING OR PERSONS IN NON POPULATED AREA (APPROX 8-10 NM FROM MORRIS, IL, ARPT) OVER SOME FARM BUILDINGS AND MACHINERY. FIXATION ON A POINT ON THE GND CAUSED INATTN TO ALT. MORE CAREFUL ATTN TO INST SCAN COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS SIT.
