Aircraft owner did not possess all aircraft records, ie, the original engine logs. No overhaul in the 1 log he did have, but it was referenced. The airframe log indicated a used engine was installed. Title: A C172 UNDERGOING ANNUAL CHK DOES NOT HAVE COMPLETE LOGS. AND NO VERIFICATION OF ENG TIMES.
Narrative: ACFT OWNER DID NOT POSSESS ALL ACFT RECORDS, IE, THE ORIGINAL ENG LOGS. NO OVERHAUL IN THE 1 LOG HE DID HAVE, BUT IT WAS REFED. THE AIRFRAME LOG INDICATED A USED ENG WAS INSTALLED. NO VERIFICATION WAS AVAILABLE FOR ENG TIMES. THE OWNER DID NOT WISH A RECONSTRUCTION OF THE LOGS BE PERFORMED.
