Narrative:
Maintenance advised that aircraft tailskid had contacted ground. Captain, flying, flew approach at approach speed and used what was perceived to be a normal flare to touchdown. PF was aware that he had to be careful to avoid this and thought he had applied proper attitude to assure no tailskid strike. In future, will carry extra airspeed and use less flare to assure tailskid remains well clear during landing in case aircraft is heavier than reported.
