Narrative:
ATC facility: ZOB. Location: east of elx. We received clearance direct dkk. We input dkk into CDU and then modified FMS flight plan. After several mins controller asked if we were direct dkk. We then saw buf as next waypoint. Soon after we were given direct buf. Cannot overemphasize confirming active waypoint.

Narrative: ATC FACILITY: ZOB. LOCATION: E OF ELX. WE RECEIVED CLRNC DIRECT DKK. WE INPUT DKK INTO CDU AND THEN MODIFIED FMS FLT PLAN. AFTER SEVERAL MINS CTLR ASKED IF WE WERE DIRECT DKK. WE THEN SAW BUF AS NEXT WAYPOINT. SOON AFTER WE WERE GIVEN DIRECT BUF. CANNOT OVEREMPHASIZE CONFIRMING ACTIVE WAYPOINT.
