Narrative:
I noticed a large split in thrust lever position (right thrust lever more forward). Right N1 came up only to about 84.2 percent. Aborted takeoff. Made a static run-up -- all indications normal. Checked with maintenance. They said that this problem had been reported before. Maintenance advised us to try another takeoff. Takeoff on the second attempt normal.
