Narrative:
Crew assigned 6000 ft. We were in the process of negotiating a change in runway and altitude and became distraction resulting in a loss in altitude of 500 ft. Factor: PF had 6 hours sleep previous night and was fatigued (also operated aircraft manually instead of autoplt).

Title: DC9-10 MAINTAINING 6000 FT ON VECTOR TO RWY 18. REQUEST A CHANGE IN RWY TO RWY 32L OR RWY 36. CTLR VECTOR CHANGE AND CAPT THOUGHT CLRED TO DSND. GOT TO 5500 FT MANUALLY FLYING THE ACFT AND CAPT VERY TIRED FROM LACK OF SLEEP.
