Narrative:
Complete loss of radar for 3-5 mins. Partial recovery of map and ARTS tags. Controllers were vectoring using the ARTS tags. I did not observe any primary or secondary radar returns. As of this writing, the cause is unknown to me. The scopes blinked out earlier for 1 second -- twice before the loss.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: TRACON RADAR BLINKED TWICE AND THEN WENT OUT FOR 3-5 MINS. CTLRS HAD PARTIAL RECOVERY OF MAP AND DATA TAGS AND USED THE DATA TAGS TO VECTOR THE ACFT UNTIL THE RADAR WAS RESTORED.
