Narrative:
On takeoff runway 8R, we received takeoff clearance from tower controller and it appeared an aircraft received a clearance to cross the runway from ground controller downfield. The aircraft downfield reversed course to clear the runway at about the time I noticed the incursion. The aircraft (light twin) was very aggressive in preventing the situation from developing further. Tower controller misstated our call sign when he noticed the problem, adding to confusion over who was cleared for what!
Original NASA ASRS Text

Narrative: ON TKOF RWY 8R, WE RECEIVED TKOF CLRNC FROM TWR CTLR AND IT APPEARED AN ACFT RECEIVED A CLRNC TO CROSS THE RWY FROM GND CTLR DOWNFIELD. THE ACFT DOWNFIELD REVERSED COURSE TO CLR THE RWY AT ABOUT THE TIME I NOTICED THE INCURSION. THE ACFT (LIGHT TWIN) WAS VERY AGGRESSIVE IN PREVENTING THE SIT FROM DEVELOPING FURTHER. TWR CTLR MISSTATED OUR CALL SIGN WHEN HE NOTICED THE PROB, ADDING TO CONFUSION OVER WHO WAS CLRED FOR WHAT!
