Narrative:
Due to maintenance problems our aircraft had to be dispatched with the center gear retracted. This was discovered after we arrived at the aircraft. Because of weight reduction penalties, the aircraft had to be defueled, new alternates determined (closer ones), new flight plan delivered, and all the while, retracting the center gear. Many tasks were being accomplished at the same time. Maintenance brought the logbook up to the cockpit with the maintenance action signed off and all seemed in order. We took off 1 hour late. Upon arrival at destination the mechanic discovered that the center gear had not been properly deferred. Factors that contributed to this were: time pressures, many tasks being accomplished, and maintenance signoff of the center gear retraction.

Title: AIR CARGO FLT ARRIVES AT DEST ARPT AND CREW FINDS OUT FROM MAINT THAT THE ACFT HAD DEPARTED MEM WITHOUT REQUIRED EQUIP PANEL STATUS STICKERS AS REQUIRED BY THEIR AIRLINE MAINT POLICY PROC.
Narrative: DUE TO MAINT PROBS OUR ACFT HAD TO BE DISPATCHED WITH THE CTR GEAR RETRACTED. THIS WAS DISCOVERED AFTER WE ARRIVED AT THE ACFT. BECAUSE OF WT REDUCTION PENALTIES, THE ACFT HAD TO BE DEFUELED, NEW ALTERNATES DETERMINED (CLOSER ONES), NEW FLT PLAN DELIVERED, AND ALL THE WHILE, RETRACTING THE CTR GEAR. MANY TASKS WERE BEING ACCOMPLISHED AT THE SAME TIME. MAINT BROUGHT THE LOGBOOK UP TO THE COCKPIT WITH THE MAINT ACTION SIGNED OFF AND ALL SEEMED IN ORDER. WE TOOK OFF 1 HR LATE. UPON ARR AT DEST THE MECH DISCOVERED THAT THE CTR GEAR HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY DEFERRED. FACTORS THAT CONTRIBUTED TO THIS WERE: TIME PRESSURES, MANY TASKS BEING ACCOMPLISHED, AND MAINT SIGNOFF OF THE CTR GEAR RETRACTION.
