Narrative:

On our taxi for takeoff we were given a different SID from what we had been previously cleared. After reviewing the SID during our taxi we misunderstood the procedure and inadvertently flew the SID, not as published. After discovering our mistake ATC gave us a vector to our filed route. Factors contributing to this error, was a change in clearance during a period of high cockpit workload during taxi.

Title: AN ACR SF340 FLC MISREADS A NEWLY ASSIGNED SID AND GETS OFF TRACK. THE ALERT DEP CTLR VECTORS THEM ON COURSE.

Narrative: ON OUR TAXI FOR TKOF WE WERE GIVEN A DIFFERENT SID FROM WHAT WE HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY CLRED. AFTER REVIEWING THE SID DURING OUR TAXI WE MISUNDERSTOOD THE PROC AND INADVERTENTLY FLEW THE SID, NOT AS PUBLISHED. AFTER DISCOVERING OUR MISTAKE ATC GAVE US A VECTOR TO OUR FILED RTE. FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO THIS ERROR, WAS A CHANGE IN CLRNC DURING A PERIOD OF HIGH COCKPIT WORKLOAD DURING TAXI.
