Narrative:
After beginning descent from FL310, turned seat belt sign on (briefed passenger) at approximately FL280 after receiving ZOA report of potential light to occasionally moderate turbulence. (Suspect area FL240 through FL190.) at approximately FL260, in clear air, with airspeed of 280 KTS, we encountered 2 distinct moderate jolts. We immediately used PA to seat flight attendants, however, the 3 flight attendants aboard were affected by turbulence and bumped into the seats, bulkhead, etc as they fought to hold balance. A passenger, seated, contacted the overhead bin when the spring clip on seat side of female portion of seat belt released. The seat belt was properly buckled but the spring clip attaching belt to seat dislodged. Notified dispatch and station personnel as well as ATC of turbulence. 1 flight attendant and 1 passenger were met by paramedics and were taken to a local sacramento hospital for evaluation, upon arrival at smf. Both were released within several hours.

Title: 2 PERSONS IN CABIN OF MLG INJURED WHEN ACFT HAS INFLT ENCOUNTER WITH CLR AIR TURB DURING A NIGHT OP. DSNDING TFC.
Narrative: AFTER BEGINNING DSCNT FROM FL310, TURNED SEAT BELT SIGN ON (BRIEFED PAX) AT APPROX FL280 AFTER RECEIVING ZOA RPT OF POTENTIAL LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE TURB. (SUSPECT AREA FL240 THROUGH FL190.) AT APPROX FL260, IN CLR AIR, WITH AIRSPD OF 280 KTS, WE ENCOUNTERED 2 DISTINCT MODERATE JOLTS. WE IMMEDIATELY USED PA TO SEAT FLT ATTENDANTS, HOWEVER, THE 3 FLT ATTENDANTS ABOARD WERE AFFECTED BY TURB AND BUMPED INTO THE SEATS, BULKHEAD, ETC AS THEY FOUGHT TO HOLD BAL. A PAX, SEATED, CONTACTED THE OVERHEAD BIN WHEN THE SPRING CLIP ON SEAT SIDE OF FEMALE PORTION OF SEAT BELT RELEASED. THE SEAT BELT WAS PROPERLY BUCKLED BUT THE SPRING CLIP ATTACHING BELT TO SEAT DISLODGED. NOTIFIED DISPATCH AND STATION PERSONNEL AS WELL AS ATC OF TURB. 1 FLT ATTENDANT AND 1 PAX WERE MET BY PARAMEDICS AND WERE TAKEN TO A LCL SACRAMENTO HOSPITAL FOR EVALUATION, UPON ARR AT SMF. BOTH WERE RELEASED WITHIN SEVERAL HRS.
