Narrative:

STAR -- new STAR in tpa was not in FMC database. Turn depiction is not prominent enough to catch your eye. ATC controller caught missed turn and made necessary correction. Problems: 1) STAR plate did not have a good diagram -- highlighting mandatory turn, 2) people problem -- pilots overreliance on highly automated cockpit. This pilot has flown a highly automated cockpit for several yrs now -- such automation leads to complacency.
