Narrative:
The flight was a charter. We were cleared to land runway 22L in ewr. After landing and clearing runway 22L, the flight attendant reported that a passenger had observed a section of the right inboard flap depart the aircraft during the approach. The passenger stated he was a skydiver and estimated the incident happened between 2000-3000 ft. Postflt inspection revealed indeed flap was missing and engine damage to the #3 engine for possible FOD. In the cockpit there were no indications of anything abnormal, the aircraft was a B727-200.
