Narrative:

Given crossing restr into jfk -- camrn at 11000 ft, on camrn 3 arrival. Upon descent for crossing restr, aircraft was being hand flown descending from FL240. Descending through 18000 ft the first officer set altimeter to local jfk setting and captain set standby altimeter to local altimeter. Upon leveloff at 11000 ft the captain leveled the aircraft by his altimeter at 11000 ft. First officer's altimeter still read 500 ft higher, so first officer (I) thought he was still descending. At first no problem was noticed, but upon prompting to get down to 11000 ft, first officer realized captain's altimeter still at 29.92 inches hg, real altimeter setting was 30.55 at jfk. Upon realization of this fact, we re-leveled the aircraft down to 11000 ft. Contributing factors: high rate of descent into jfk for camrn arrival contributed to this. Concern to make crossing restr might have caused the missing of setting second altimeter (captain altimeter).

Title: AN ACR B737-200 CAPT FORGETS TO RESET HIS OWN ALTIMETER TO STATION PRESSURE AS HE DSNDS AND LEVELS OFF 500 FT TOO HIGH AT CAMRN INTXN. THE FO NOTICED THE ERROR AND FLC CORRECTED.

Narrative: GIVEN XING RESTR INTO JFK -- CAMRN AT 11000 FT, ON CAMRN 3 ARR. UPON DSCNT FOR XING RESTR, ACFT WAS BEING HAND FLOWN DSNDING FROM FL240. DSNDING THROUGH 18000 FT THE FO SET ALTIMETER TO LCL JFK SETTING AND CAPT SET STANDBY ALTIMETER TO LCL ALTIMETER. UPON LEVELOFF AT 11000 FT THE CAPT LEVELED THE ACFT BY HIS ALTIMETER AT 11000 FT. FO'S ALTIMETER STILL READ 500 FT HIGHER, SO FO (I) THOUGHT HE WAS STILL DSNDING. AT FIRST NO PROB WAS NOTICED, BUT UPON PROMPTING TO GET DOWN TO 11000 FT, FO REALIZED CAPT'S ALTIMETER STILL AT 29.92 INCHES HG, REAL ALTIMETER SETTING WAS 30.55 AT JFK. UPON REALIZATION OF THIS FACT, WE RE-LEVELED THE ACFT DOWN TO 11000 FT. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: HIGH RATE OF DSCNT INTO JFK FOR CAMRN ARR CONTRIBUTED TO THIS. CONCERN TO MAKE XING RESTR MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE MISSING OF SETTING SECOND ALTIMETER (CAPT ALTIMETER).
