Narrative:
Clearance delivery issued clearance for flight xx to den as (maintain 5000 ft expect FL260 10 mins after takeoff heading 310 degrees departure control 124.6 transponder KKKK). We were issued takeoff clearance by tower for runway 35R, started a left hand turn toward 310 degree heading. After turn was started tower told us to maintain runway heading. Supplemental information from acn 357850: after takeoff on runway 35R about 400 ft the PF started to turn to 310 degree heading. As the turn was started tower told us to maintain runway heading and told us that another aircraft had also just taken off from runway 35L. We were not originally issued a runway heading after takeoff, before takeoff. The problem could be prevented in the future by staggering departures so no conflict could arise, no matter what heading any 2 aircraft may take.
