Narrative:
Given a descent to 17000 ft MSL on arrival to pit. Level off mode wasn't engaged on autoplt, we realized it at 16600 ft MSL and corrected. ATC didn't mention it. I think the main problem is that all 3 crew members are new in their seats, the first officer just forgot to push the level off engage button and I didn't notice it. Additionally, we were talking about the approach at pit and no one monitored the level off.

Title: ALTDEV ALT OVERSHOT IN DSCNT. RPTR ERROR ADMITTED IN LACK OF FLC VIGILANCE.
Narrative: GIVEN A DSCNT TO 17000 FT MSL ON ARR TO PIT. LEVEL OFF MODE WASN'T ENGAGED ON AUTOPLT, WE REALIZED IT AT 16600 FT MSL AND CORRECTED. ATC DIDN'T MENTION IT. I THINK THE MAIN PROB IS THAT ALL 3 CREW MEMBERS ARE NEW IN THEIR SEATS, THE FO JUST FORGOT TO PUSH THE LEVEL OFF ENGAGE BUTTON AND I DIDN'T NOTICE IT. ADDITIONALLY, WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THE APCH AT PIT AND NO ONE MONITORED THE LEVEL OFF.
