Narrative:

Was called in to work and instructed to pick up freight and take it to ord. I proceeded as instructed although it was against my better judgement. I realized that it was not worth the risk and have informed my superiors that I will not pilot any further flts of this type, because it is in violation of far part 135. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter flies the MU2 for the aviation department of a corporation. To achieve greater utilization for the aircraft the corporation is in the process of acquiring certification under part 135 of the FARS. The reporter was ordered to carry cargo for another air carrier prior to the issuance of the part 135 certification. The local FSDO has looked into this matter. Part 135 certification is not yet complete and the reporter is no longer accepting this type assignment.

Title: A CORPORATE MU2 PLT FLEW CARGO WITHOUT PROPER CERTIFICATION UNDER PART 135 OF THE FARS.

Narrative: WAS CALLED IN TO WORK AND INSTRUCTED TO PICK UP FREIGHT AND TAKE IT TO ORD. I PROCEEDED AS INSTRUCTED ALTHOUGH IT WAS AGAINST MY BETTER JUDGEMENT. I REALIZED THAT IT WAS NOT WORTH THE RISK AND HAVE INFORMED MY SUPERIORS THAT I WILL NOT PLT ANY FURTHER FLTS OF THIS TYPE, BECAUSE IT IS IN VIOLATION OF FAR PART 135. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR FLIES THE MU2 FOR THE AVIATION DEPT OF A CORPORATION. TO ACHIEVE GREATER UTILIZATION FOR THE ACFT THE CORPORATION IS IN THE PROCESS OF ACQUIRING CERTIFICATION UNDER PART 135 OF THE FARS. THE RPTR WAS ORDERED TO CARRY CARGO FOR ANOTHER ACR PRIOR TO THE ISSUANCE OF THE PART 135 CERTIFICATION. THE LCL FSDO HAS LOOKED INTO THIS MATTER. PART 135 CERTIFICATION IS NOT YET COMPLETE AND THE RPTR IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING THIS TYPE ASSIGNMENT.
