The engine quit over a 30 second to 1 min period. I had no choice but to land. I put the plane in the water, close to land. No injury to anyone, including myself.

Title: A STEARMAN A25 PLT HAD TO DITCH WHEN HE HAD AN INFLT ENG SHUTDOWN.
Narrative: THE ENG QUIT OVER A 30 SECOND TO 1 MIN PERIOD. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO LAND. I PUT THE PLANE IN THE WATER, CLOSE TO LAND. NO INJURY TO ANYONE, INCLUDING MYSELF.
