Narrative:
Simply omitted an MEL/cdl item on release. Item had been on release on previous flight. I inadvertently looked at old release to check MEL/cdl status. (Item was light bulb inoperative in entryway.) new release format has much information on it. It will take some getting used to. Preflight rushed by procurement of crew meals and pilots aiding operations agent in carrying overload carry-ONS down to baggage bins. Discovered after leveloff. Additional causal factors: 3 different aircraft in 2 days -- each with different MEL/cdl status. Human factors: mountain standard crew 2 time zones east, XA00 body clock get up. 4 hours into day with little food. Quick turn emphasis due to late arrival (ATC vectoring delays). Corrective actions? Pay closer attention to that item on release.
