Narrative:
After shooting the VOR approach to runway 7, I was cleared to land (and better aligned with) runway 5. After landing, I was cleared to 'taxi to parking.' this requires crossing runway 7. After being cleared to taxi to parking, I called company on communication #2 (ground was on communication #1) and spoke briefly with them. After parking and shutting down the aircraft, I noticed (while exiting the aircraft) a company aircraft. Performing a missed approach. When I walked in the operations area I was told to call the tower. The tower informed me of their 4-5 attempts to reach me on ground frequency. I apologized and came up with the only logical conclusion (which I later confirmed) that I must have turned down the communication #1 volume. I have no idea why I turned the volume down (don't usually do that). I'll definitely be more careful with that in the future. Tower also informed me that a company BE02 had 'gone around' due to my lack of response on ground frequency. I saw the aircraft go around after I parked approximately 2 and one half mins after crossing runway 7. I think tower issued the go around due to the lack of radar and the IMC conditions.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ATX SMT LANDED RWY 5 AND CLRED TO COMPANY RAMP. FAILED TO MONITOR TWR WHILE ON COMPANY RADIO AND MISSED HOLD SHORT RWY 7, CROSSED WITHOUT CLRNC. COMPANY BE02 ON APCH RWY 7 HAD TO MAKE GAR.
Narrative: AFTER SHOOTING THE VOR APCH TO RWY 7, I WAS CLRED TO LAND (AND BETTER ALIGNED WITH) RWY 5. AFTER LNDG, I WAS CLRED TO 'TAXI TO PARKING.' THIS REQUIRES XING RWY 7. AFTER BEING CLRED TO TAXI TO PARKING, I CALLED COMPANY ON COM #2 (GND WAS ON COM #1) AND SPOKE BRIEFLY WITH THEM. AFTER PARKING AND SHUTTING DOWN THE ACFT, I NOTICED (WHILE EXITING THE ACFT) A COMPANY ACFT. PERFORMING A MISSED APCH. WHEN I WALKED IN THE OPS AREA I WAS TOLD TO CALL THE TWR. THE TWR INFORMED ME OF THEIR 4-5 ATTEMPTS TO REACH ME ON GND FREQ. I APOLOGIZED AND CAME UP WITH THE ONLY LOGICAL CONCLUSION (WHICH I LATER CONFIRMED) THAT I MUST HAVE TURNED DOWN THE COM #1 VOLUME. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I TURNED THE VOLUME DOWN (DON'T USUALLY DO THAT). I'LL DEFINITELY BE MORE CAREFUL WITH THAT IN THE FUTURE. TWR ALSO INFORMED ME THAT A COMPANY BE02 HAD 'GONE AROUND' DUE TO MY LACK OF RESPONSE ON GND FREQ. I SAW THE ACFT GAR AFTER I PARKED APPROX 2 AND ONE HALF MINS AFTER XING RWY 7. I THINK TWR ISSUED THE GAR DUE TO THE LACK OF RADAR AND THE IMC CONDITIONS.
