Narrative:
We discovered a passenger seat was broken. We called maintenance en route and were told a mechanic would meet us. I did not write the seat up because I was going to have the mechanic write it up. When we arrived in mem, the next flight crew was there to meet us with no mechanic. I told the other captain about the seat and that maintenance was on the way and that I did not write it up. He said ok and I left, but the mechanic never showed up and the captain took off without writing it up.
