Narrative:
Upon arrival in the terminal area, we were changed from a visual approach to runway 25R to a visual approach to runway 16. This was due to the runway lights being OTS on runway 25R. After briefing a visual approach backed up by the VOR runway 16, we commenced the approach. The approach and landing were normal and we were told to turn off at the end of runway 16. The landing and rollout occurred just after sunset and it was relatively dark. As we turned off the runway we contacted ground control. Ground told us to hold short of runway 25L on taxiway west. As we taxied north on taxiway west the first officer was completing the after landing check while the captain was looking for the hold short point for runway 25L. Shortly thereafter, ground control told us to stop (rather forcefully) and I immediately applied the brakes. Taxi speed was relatively slow due to unfamiliarity with this section of the airport. The stopping distance was minimal, and after stopping we noticed the nose of our aircraft was just short of runway 25L. As we look around to see why the stop instruction was given, we noticed an aircraft on short final for runway 25L going around (missed approach). After the aircraft passed, we were cleared to taxi to the gate. After reviewing the situation, we were unsure if our close proximity to the runway caused the light aircraft to go around. Recommendations: runway 16 is not a normal air carrier runway. Tower could have helped with more information about hold short proximity. That portion of the airport could have better lighting to help identify the intersection. The signage for runway 25L and taxiway 16 was poor. The crew could have delayed the after landing check and been more sure of the intersection in question before completing other duties.

Title: MD88 TURNS OFF LNDG RWY AND HAS IN INCURSION AT THE NEXT RWY TO BE CROSSED AT DAB.
Narrative: UPON ARR IN THE TERMINAL AREA, WE WERE CHANGED FROM A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 25R TO A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 16. THIS WAS DUE TO THE RWY LIGHTS BEING OTS ON RWY 25R. AFTER BRIEFING A VISUAL APCH BACKED UP BY THE VOR RWY 16, WE COMMENCED THE APCH. THE APCH AND LNDG WERE NORMAL AND WE WERE TOLD TO TURN OFF AT THE END OF RWY 16. THE LNDG AND ROLLOUT OCCURRED JUST AFTER SUNSET AND IT WAS RELATIVELY DARK. AS WE TURNED OFF THE RWY WE CONTACTED GND CTL. GND TOLD US TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 25L ON TXWY W. AS WE TAXIED N ON TXWY W THE FO WAS COMPLETING THE AFTER LNDG CHK WHILE THE CAPT WAS LOOKING FOR THE HOLD SHORT POINT FOR RWY 25L. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, GND CTL TOLD US TO STOP (RATHER FORCEFULLY) AND I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE BRAKES. TAXI SPD WAS RELATIVELY SLOW DUE TO UNFAMILIARITY WITH THIS SECTION OF THE ARPT. THE STOPPING DISTANCE WAS MINIMAL, AND AFTER STOPPING WE NOTICED THE NOSE OF OUR ACFT WAS JUST SHORT OF RWY 25L. AS WE LOOK AROUND TO SEE WHY THE STOP INSTRUCTION WAS GIVEN, WE NOTICED AN ACFT ON SHORT FINAL FOR RWY 25L GOING AROUND (MISSED APCH). AFTER THE ACFT PASSED, WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI TO THE GATE. AFTER REVIEWING THE SIT, WE WERE UNSURE IF OUR CLOSE PROX TO THE RWY CAUSED THE LIGHT ACFT TO GAR. RECOMMENDATIONS: RWY 16 IS NOT A NORMAL ACR RWY. TWR COULD HAVE HELPED WITH MORE INFO ABOUT HOLD SHORT PROX. THAT PORTION OF THE ARPT COULD HAVE BETTER LIGHTING TO HELP IDENT THE INTXN. THE SIGNAGE FOR RWY 25L AND TXWY 16 WAS POOR. THE CREW COULD HAVE DELAYED THE AFTER LNDG CHK AND BEEN MORE SURE OF THE INTXN IN QUESTION BEFORE COMPLETING OTHER DUTIES.
